Research: Villians in horror
I think that I would use a 'monster' in my film because I feel as though it give the auidence something to fear and also gives a great but also cassic storyline showing that theres the 'good guyd' and the 'bad guys'.

Welcome to my blog for A2 media studies!
This is my blog where I will be keeping a portfolio of all my work and ideas along the way to creating my final products which are a horror trailer, poster and magazine front cover.
What is the first horror film you remember seeing and how did it affect you?
I don't remember the first horror film that I watched however I do feel like it was most probably scream. I remember that after watching Scream I was terrified of those scream masks and anyone who dressed up in it freaked me out and i would hide, so it left me almost traumatized.
What are your feelings and experiences of the horror genre since then?
I used to not like horror films at all and I refused to watch them because I used to get so scared and from watching scream it made me hate it even more but eventually I started to watch more horror films as I got older and I love it its one of my favorite genres to watch because I like to get scared.
What do you find frightening and why?
I find gory stuff frightening anything that involves seeing like a leg get chopped off or anything to do with seeing organs or any bodily harm freaks me out. I also hate seeing someone getting stabbed or like axed cause the thought of a sharp object going through a persons body makes me feel sick and scares me cause I imagine it happening to me. Other than that I find most things funny like I laugh so much at killer clowns.
What kind of horror posters/trailers interest you?
The kind of horror posters that interest me are usually ones that stand out for example like a massive scary imagine on the front. If there is any images of clowns on a poster that usually grabs my attention straight away. I feel like this is because the makeup is so good that its actually quite fascinating and it just looks really cool. With the horror trailers I find that anything that is going to make me jump and put of edge interests me. I also like seeing quick action, for example if something is chasing someone or people are running away. The colours and graphics and also setting and lighting interest me in trailers. This is because I don't really like to watch an all dark film and so if I see that their is some bright lighting I grabs my attention immediately.
The poster above is an example of what would catch my attention, as you can see there is a enlarged image on the front and this automatically stands out for me but also the colour that are used and how the angle of gaze is straight at the audience.
here is also an example of a horror trailer from the move 'Hush'. the main character of the film is death and cannot speak and is with this film in particular sound plays a very important part as t tells the story without using much dialogue.
What kind of poster/trailer do you think you might create?
I hope to base my trailer and poster around a clown because I honestly love clowns but this will come down to what my group also decides. I feel like when you create something you love you automatically do better. However I feel like ill create something that quite bold and colorful because in my opinion this is the thing that will most likely grab my attention. But it would be a creepy but colourful look.
What are you most excited about exploring/creating this year?
I am most excited about the production work of making the horror trailer. So like going out to film the scenes and them because Its quite fun and exciting putting it altogether in premier and watching it come together also excites me because I like to see how all the work that was done and put into doing it finally comes together.
